Glen Echo, MD – The Glen Echo Dentzel carousel has outlasted the park and retained its original location since 1921. When the park closed in 1968, a public campaign raised $80,000 to purchase carousel which was ultimately given to National Park Service. The figures and trim on this beautifully carved 1921 William Dentzel deluxe menagerie carousel have been immaculately restored by renowned carousel expert, Rosa Patton, making one of the most beautiful carousels in the world.
