Charles I. D. Looff

Charles I. D. Looff – American immigrant master-carver and carousel builder (also roller coasters and other amusement rides).
Looff built the first carousel at Coney Island in 1876. He manufactured more than 50 carousels, several amusements parks, roller coasters and Ferris wheels. Looff built a number of amusement piers and hippodromes along the California coast including the famous Santa Monica Pier.
