1915 Mangels – Carmel • 4 rows, 66 horses, 3 chariots
Many experts think the carousel was a special order, with 3 chariots and the incredibly detailed carving on nearly every horse.
The carousel first operated in Savin Rock, West Haven, CT, through to the Depression, 1929. It moved to Rye Playland in 1929 and hasn’t moved since.
