5th Anniversary Celebration for The Carousel of Happiness this Memorial Day

Nederland, CO – Although it’s not exactly on the beaten path, “The Carousel of Happiness” in the Colorado Rockies has given more than 400,000 rides as they ready to celebrate their 5th anniversary this Memorial Day.
The Carousel of Happiness is Nederland Colorado’s magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel mechanism, turning to the music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ.
Memorial Day marks 5 years since Scott Harrison’s dream of a place of pure happiness opened its doors. In addition to over 400,000 rides, the carousel has provided more than 2,500 free rides to seniors, children and people with disabilities, and served as a place of reflection for veterans and their families.
Memorial Day Celebration
Every year on Memorial Day Scott Harrison hosts a Memorial Day Ceremony where veterans gather at the carousel for a silent ride in memory and support of all veterans. This year he has planned something special to mark the this milestone and will be at the Carousel in the afternoon. And, as always, veterans and their families ride free all day. Snacks and games will be available for families.
In conjunction with the 5 year anniversary of the carousel is the release of the new book on The Story of The Carousel of Happiness, “Don’t Delay Joy”. Read all about the book here >
